These organic wool and silk baby pants are lightweight and can be worn alone or as an base layer. They have an elastic waist and cuffed legs. Compared to the Organic Wool and Silk Long Johns they have a more generous cut in the bum to allow for a bulky diaper. Makes a perfect layette when paired with the Organic Wool and Silk Onesie .
• Organic, biodynamic wool and silk blend (70% organic merino wool, 30% silk)
• Breathable, super soft, comfortable, and temperature-regulating
The addition of silk adds durability and softness
• Organic lanolin in the wool means you don't have to wash this onesie often -- simply air them out!
• Made in Switzerland
• Ships in 1-2 business days from UrthChild or the US distributor
At UrthChild, we are big believers in keeping kids warm. Woolens are a necessity, especially in colder climates and during the wintertime.
How does organic wool stack up against synthetics? Organic wool is hypo-allergenic, is breathable, keeps a baby's skin dry, is naturally flame resistant, and doesn't need to be washed frequently. A winner in our book!
We recommend that you have at least two pair of wool pants on hand. Because woolens rarely need to be washed, your child can wear one of the woolens while the other woolen is airing out. You'll love having these woolens; they'll give you peace of mind that your child is cozy and warm.
• Certified Organic by Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)
• Certified Biodynamic by Demeter
Safe & Non-Toxic
• Free from harmful chemicals, lead, heavy metals, and pesticides
• Produced without the use of pesticides and fertilizers that may be harmful to ecosystems
• A must-have, essential product
The wool in these pants comes from pure-bred merino sheep who are grazed on pesticide-free grass and treated homeopathically for optimal health and well-being. Once the wool is hand-sheared, it is not chemically treated, leaving it incredibly soft, soothing, and warm.
Because organic wool is naturally self-cleaning, these woolens are actually quite easy to care for. A good airing-out once in awhile is all organic wool needs. If the woolen does become soiled, we recommend hand washing or machine washing on a gentle cycle, preferably with a lanolin soap. Never put your woolen in the dryer because this will cause the pants to shrink!
GOTS-Certified Organic Wool: Hocosa's woolens are certified organic by the Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS), which is a USDA-Accredited Certifying Agent.
Demeter-Certified Biodynamic Wool: Hocosa's woolens are certified biodynamic by the Demeter Association, which is a USDA-Accredited Certifying Agent. Biodynamic agriculture is the strictest method of organic farming in the world. Advocates of biodynamic agriculture maintain that biodynamic clothing retains the positive life force of the wool and its interconnectedness with the soil, sun, moon, planets, water, and other living beings.
