From Parisian Mathilde de Turckheim's Liberty collection, this elegant necklace features beautiful, feminine red Liberty fabric with red papier mache beads. The fabric used in this necklace comes from the iconic designers at Liberty of London. Mathilde cut the gorgeous Liberty fabric necklace with pinking shears and left the edges unfinished, which gives the necklace a look that is romantic, raw, and indie, all at the same time. Mathilde also adhered Liberty fabric to some of the beads to add even more visual interest. The necklace ties at the nape of the neck, allowing you to play with various lengths. The necklace can be worn alone or stacked with other necklaces from Mathilde's Liberty collection
This heirloom necklace is handcrafted by the artist herself. The creativity, intention, and whimsy that Mathilde pours into each of her designs will inspire you every time you or your loved one wears this piece.

Only Mathilde de Turckheim could design necklaces like those in her Liberty collection. The interesting way she tied the beads together, the incredibly feminine Liberty fabrics, and the unfinished strips of fabric make this necklace a true indie look. A little wild, a little girly. And stacking this necklace with others in the Liberty collection
only adds to the necklaces' appeal. Like any of Mathilde's vivid handmade jewelry pieces, this necklace is a conversation piece and would make the perfect gift for the girl or lady who has everything. Very cool.
Although Mathilde's jewelry isn't organic, she is an excellent example of a great eco-friendly trend called upcycling
. She takes old, vintage materials and turns them into something new and exciting. So, although this necklace isn't organic, we love how it is upcycled...plus we're suckers for anything handmade!

Mathilde de Turckheim uses a variety of materials, both new and vintage, to create her upcycled, one-of-a-kind jewelry creations. Vintage fabrics, wool, semi-precious stones, silk, Swarovski crystals, and wooden and papier mache beads are some of Mathilde's favorite materials. Mathilde's materials are all free from lead.
Mathilde de Turckheim is a Parisian jewelry designer who was born in Beirut, raised in France, spent several years in West Africa, and now resides in New York City. Living in such rich and varied cultures fueled Mathilde's imagination at an early age and inspire her vibrant and bold creations.
After studying painting, drawing, and jewelry design at various Parisian ateliers, Mathilde spent nine years selling high-end Italian textiles to French designers. In 2004, Mathilde launched her own line of vintage handmade jewelry. Her collections feature one-of-a-kind necklaces that taunt the imagination with their counter-play of exotic colors, ethnic touches, and charming femininity. Rich in texture, each design evokes a world that exists only in Mathilde's playful imagination.
