This hand-crafted, solid hardwood crib will not only give your baby a comfortable place to sleep. It will also help you sleep at night knowing that it is free from formaldehyde, toxic finishes, and other hazardous substances common in conventionally-produced furniture.
This crib is constructed with sustainably harvested Western Maple from the Pacific Northwest and non-toxic finishes. Its manufacturer Pacific Rim Woodworking uses traditional mortise and tenon joinery that minimizes the need for adhesives and ensures that the piece will last through generations of use.
One of the many reasons we like this crib so well is that its thoughtful design lets the piece adapt over time as your child develops:
The mattress platform can be adjusted to four different heights as your child grows.
With the available kit, the crib can also be converted to a toddler bed--avoiding the need to buy another bed down the line.
Casters are also available if you need to move the crib more easily. The crib assembles in three easy steps with included tools, and is available either unfinished or with a non-toxic, oil- and beeswax-based finish.
Made in USA
Measures: 54.5" long x 41" high x 32.5" wide (Fits a standard crib mattress)
* Please note: Pacific Rim Woodworking produces each crib to order. Please allow 8-10 weeks to custom produce and ship your crib. When you place your order, we will provide you with an estimated shipping time.
(Gift wrap is not available for this product due to its large size)
Formaldehyde, adhesives, paints, stains, and other chemicals continuously off-gas during the entire life of a piece of conventionally made furniture--including cribs. The Radius Crib from Pacific Rim Woodworking, however, is completely non-toxic and does not release chemicals or VOCs (volatile organic compounds) into the air your child breathes during the 14-16 hours per day he or she may spend sleeping in a crib. We also love how this crib is handcrafted with sturdy construction and attention to detail. The edges are beveled, the hardware is hidden, the beautiful luster and grain of the maple wood match any decor, and the beautiful curves of the Radius design will never go out of style.
Safe & Non-Toxic
• Free from VOCs, harmful chemicals, lead, and heavy metals
• Product safety verified and monitored by independent testing institution
• Produced with materials from sustainable sources
• Durable -- heirloom quality will last through long-term use
The Pacific Rim Radius Crib obtains its hardwood from a supplier certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) for sustainable forest management practices.
The Pacific Rim Radius Crib meets or exceeds the standards set forth by ASTM International (American Society for Testing and Materials).
The Detroit Testing Laboratory, an independent testing institution tests the Pacific Rim Radius Crib for compliance with all federal safety regulations.
Non-Toxic Finishes: Each piece of furniture from Pacific Rim Woodworking is hand-rubbed with a non-toxic finish made from Tung Oil, Linseed Oil, and Varathane (a drying agent that is inert after the finish is dry and does not off-gas). As added protection, the finish includes beeswax, producing a silky-smooth surface that is resistant to scratches, saliva, and wear and tear.
Since 1981 Pacific Rim Woodworking has been hand-crafting solid maple furniture from its workshop in Eugene, Oregon. The company is committed to providing quality products that are made with a minimal impact on the environment and constructed to withstand generations of use.
Pacific Rim uses Western Maple from sustainably-managed forests in Washington and Oregon to produce its furniture. To highlight the natural beauty of the wood, each piece is hand-rubbed with the company's non-toxic, natural finish.
The company strives to eliminate waste--using every possible board foot of maple. Any scrap wood left over from production processes is either donated to local schools for woodshop projects or donated to low-income families to use for heating during winter months. Pacific Rim also recycles sawdust into useful compost at a local lawn and garden center.
From the company: "Today more than ever, mankind is realizing just how small and precious our planet is. Although there is much to be done and even more to yet discover, we are proud to play our small role. We are committed to finding harmony within our environment and securing the future of this unique planet called Earth. We hope you will join us."
