This blanket is made from 100% certified organic cotton velour. The cotton is grown in West Texas, spun into yarn, and knitted on the East Coast with fair labor. The resulting cotton velour is the softest, plushest fabric, certain to lull any baby into a peaceful sleep. The 100% natural Peace Silk charmeuse trim adds a touch of lightness to these lovely blankets. (Peace Silk comes from a humane silkworm farm that allows its silkworms to live out their entire lifecycle.)
To ensure that these blankets are safe and healthy for your baby, Robbie Adrian uses non-toxic, non-heavy metal, non-azo, and low-impact dyes to color the blankets and trim. The white blankets are whitened using hydrogen peroxide, rather than harsh chemical bleaches; this whitening process meets US organic standards. (The natural blankets are undyed and unwhitened.)
Unlike most conventional luxury bedding, Robbie Adrian's blankets do not require dry cleaning and can be machine washed and dried. By washing your Robbie Adrian blankets at home, you will avoid the toxic chemicals used in dry cleaning. In fact, Robbie Adrian's blankets continue to soften with each washing.
