If Sarah Waldo Organics has a signature dress, the Ella Dress is it. Back by popular demand for a second season, this breezy dress has an ethereal quality from its two layers of soft organic cotton voile. Trimmed in natural linen, the dress closes in the back with a delicate single button. Perfect on its own or over a shirt. And like many Sarah Waldo Organics creations, once the dress is too short to be worn alone, it becomes an adorable tunic for long-term wear. Amazing how such simplicity can make a girl feel so feminine, so dreamy.
Available in petal and peashoot.

Cape Cod native Sarah Waldo moved to New York City in 2001 to study at the Parsons School of Design in order to turn her two passions--fashion and children--into a new company with a focus on stylish organic clothing for girls. Sarah Waldo Organics has produced a stunning collection of beautiful, expertly tailored pieces with a style defined by Cape-inspired colors and a European look.
Sarah Waldo Organics recognizes that even little girls have an increasingly sophisticated sense of style but designing fashion for girls is not just a matter of making women's clothing smaller. Not all style trends are age-appropriate and girl's growing bodies create different design needs. Sarah Waldo's designs include thoughtful features such as hidden adjustable waistbands to improve fit on narrow girls' waists and careful attention to length and cut to extend the useful life of pieces as girls grow. The result is a beautiful collection of versatile, well-constructed girls clothes that continue to look great season after season. We are not surprised that Sarah Waldo was nominated 2005 Designer of the Year at Parsons School of Design--the first children's clothing designer to receive the honor.
Sarah Waldo Organics uses only organic and natural fibers, such as cotton, silk, hemp, and wool, with low-impact dyes, and sustainable details like buttons made from nuts and shells. All fabrics are sourced from Texas or Japan, and all Sarah Waldo clothing is sewn in Massachusetts where the people producing the clothes are receiving a livable wage and full benefits.
We were completely swept away by the elegance of the Sarah Waldo's designs, and chose to carry her line because Sarah Waldo Organics embodies all of the qualities we find important at UrthChild: organic materials, impeccable design, a commitment to lasting quality, and social responsibility.
